SHARGE Disk is compatible with NVMe 2230 SSDs from Samsung, Western Digital, WD, Sabrent, and other brands.
What are the read/write speeds of the data cable?

No, we don't sell SSDs directly.
Does the USB-C port have a protective cover?
Yes, the silicone case for the SHARGE Disk fully covers and protects the port.
What SSD capacities are supported by SHARGE Disk?
There is theoretically no limit to the SSD capacity supported, as long as the SSDs are NVMe 2230 models. If a capacity upgrade prevents support, we will update the firmware to accommodate larger SSDs. At the moment it's 2TB max.
Can SHARGE Disk fit into my MacBook without a cable?
Yes, SHARGE Disk can fit directly into your MacBook without a cable. For thinner laptops like the MacBook Air, SHARGE Disk may be thicker, so using the included cable is recommended if placing the laptop flat. For placing the laptop on a stand, no adjustment required.
How does the fan work? Is it noisy?
Don't worry, the fan stops automatically after 3 minutes of no data transfer. Fan noise is a whisper-quiet 28dB. In most environments, the fan is barely audible.
Can I update the firmware later?
Yes, the SSD firmware on SHARGE Disk can be updated for optimal performance.
Do I need to format the SSD before using disk?

I really like the device, but it did miss the mark in one area. My Laptop apparently has a magnetic reed switch close to the USB C port. When I use the device without the extension cable, my laptop thinks I closed the lid and shuts off my monitor and logs me out of windows. Using the cable, I do not have the issue. It appears that the magnet used to keep the clear window closed is so strong that it fakes my laptop thinking that I closed the lid (screen). This is why I gave it a 4 out of 5.
Good product, fast and nice
I got the gray SHARGE CASE for my SSD and it works perfectly well. The product is meticulously designed. I would say the only flaw is the folded cable acrylic container, the cable doesn't sit smoothly on the space, it's a bit clunky in the little case and the fold on the cable looks a bit crooked, not at all smooth like in the pictures and renders of the product. This doesn't interfere on the functioning of the product tho.
However, its been months Sharge has been spamming my email inbox with newsletters and promotional emails about other products. I have insistently unsubscribed from dozens of those at this point and I am still getting spammed by their obnoxious and disrespectful CRM strategies. Because of this fact I wouldn't recommend making the purchase and I personally won't be coming back to the Sharge store again because I need my inbox peace, I need my requests as a costumer to be respected.
I really love the size and compact form of the SSD enclosure. I just wish it would be able to handle Thunderbolt 5 and accept up to 4 or 8 TB SSDs. I know the 4 TB 2230s are being worked on. However even a 2TB 2230 SSD on an enclosure with Thunderbolt 5 capability would be awesome. 👏🏼
Its so good, but i will give 2 start for the case. Its so bad and the rubber is so soft and it will not protect it like they advertise it. So please work for this. The Enclosure is good and its 5 star for it but for case it is a mess.
