I bought one last week and had it in 5 days through the US Mail. Installation was a breeze. I've never been one for packaging until Apple started their user experience with their packaging. The Sharge packaging rivals that of Apple's. I was very impressed with the packaging experience. There are several small screws that need to be removed to install the SSD. Sharge gives you extras just incase of one of those "Oops" moments. The necessary screwdriver was included and all was packaged so nicely. Within in minutes I had the SSD installed and plugged in. I installed a 4TB FireCuda. Simple file transfers did not affect the heat level. I loaded up some prepress files for the printer and the temperature was just fine. I'll be ordering a few more of these today. The compact design, the built in cable everything was very well thought out. What impressed me just as much was the price. Thanks Sharge! At first glance, this enclosure is a sleek, compact, and elegant piece of hardware. That elegance, however, quickly fades when you introduce the magnetic module—suddenly, it's no longer about refined design but about compromised functionality.
I backed this enclosure on Kickstarter, joining the campaign on September 3, 2024, with high hopes of receiving a high-speed NVMe enclosure by the end of December. The promise was clear: "Powered by USB 3.2 Gen 2, Disk Plus provides a superb data transfer speed of 10Gbps." But as my attached speed test shows, reality falls short—even with a top-tier SSD like the Samsung 990 PRO.
The included cable is of decent quality, but it's too rigid for practical use, especially with an iPhone. Worse, it actively works against the magnetic module, causing frequent disconnections.
But the most concerning flaw? The complete lack of a Power Loss Protection (PLP) module. Instead of incorporating this crucial feature, the designers expect you to connect an additional USB-C power bank—ideally, their own Sharge-branded one. This workaround is neither practical nor reliable for those who prioritize data integrity.
Ultimately, whether this enclosure is worth it depends on your tolerance for trade-offs. If you value speed, reliability, and thoughtful engineering, this might not be the "wonder" you're looking for.

Easy to assemble and works great

A really neat way of transferring data between phones a computers. Extremely compact including the short cable and in my case the magnetic adapter which clips the SSD securely to the phone or with the metal rings, to the laptop. Using mine as a 2Tb drive handling video transfer without problems and yet so compact and portable, I take it everywhere. Highly recommended.

This enclosure does great for space and is wicked fast for uploads and downloads on it. However, it doesn’t seem to be powerful enough to be recognized by my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Maybe because it’s 1 TB chip, maybe I formatted wrong but unsure, a little disappointed in that.
